Drawing, Painting, & Textile work

2020, chalk pastel, 9x12"

2018, acrylic on canvas, 8x10"

2016, chalk pastel, 9x12"

2007, embroidery, 3 X 4" This fully-embroidered scene of my first car (which was pink) driving in "car heaven" was made into a key chain as a method of incorporating a found object related to the subject matter. I had one week to complete this assignment, and band-aids on every fingertip by the time I submitted it.

2007, Monoprint, 36 X 22 " This image is one in a series of three monoprints in which I experimented with the multiple monoprinting methods. Stereotypically "feminine" dressings of silk flowers and lace were printed over top of transferred drawings of the female figure.

2008, acrylic on canvas, 30 X 24"

2007, acrylic on canvas, 9 X 12"

2007, quilt, 20 X 20" An exploration into how shape, line, and texture in quilting could be used to imply movement.

2007, acrylic and strips of braided acrylic on canvas (2 panels), 24 X 16" "Torn/Ashamed" represents a person's multiple dimension of pain in a situation that one regrets. In the creation of this project I explored extensive layering and glazing techniques. In addition, I poured acrylic paint onto a glass pane, let it dry, then peeled it off in strips and braided it to make the 3-dimensional "chains" that bind the figure in this image.

2008, acrylic on canvas (9 panels), approx. 4 X 5" The second in a two-piece series in which I painted renderings of the viral or bacterial causes of human illness, magnified at a microscopic level.

2013, mixed media on paper, 22 X 29"

2007, acrylic on canvas, each panel 14 X 14" This was inspired by nearly-barren deciduous tree branches, and the intricate patterns they create against the sky.
